About Me

I am Lourdes Garciduenas and…

I was born in 1998 in stunning Mexico City, where I spent the first 24 years of my life. As a child, I had a reputation as a “fangirl” due to my fascination with pop culture and the way it manifests and influences generations. But I never knew my passion and love for entertainment and the fandom culture could foster a professional career until I was in my third semester in my undergrad.

When I was a kid, I was what my dad would call, “La señorita todita” (in English, “Miss everything”). That means I wanted to do EVERYTHING. I was always eager to explore different career paths and had aspirations to become an astronaut, chef, fashion designer, forensic medical examiner, and much more. However, it was the character of Miranda Priestly in the”The Devil Wears Prada” movie that inspired to me to become a strong and confident leader like she was. How she managed herself, her team and the magazine was a big influence for me to study Communications and Digital Media at Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico City started.

Throughout my undergrad, I joined a lot of student groups and actively participated in them. It was during this time that I realized that Public Relations was what I wanted to pursue for my professional career. In those groups, I was assigned to the PR and Social Media teams. Those semesters were key for me to understand that I could pursue a professional career where I could mix my passion and love for entertainment with PR.

When I was in my ninth semester of undergrad, I began researching universities to pursue a master’s degree in Public Relations. One quick “PR Master’s Dregree” Google Search, and I stumbled on the USC web page. I researched, watched a lot of videos, and read so many things about USC that it was almost meant to be. When I received my acceptance letter I cried so much as if I was going to a BTS concert (yes, I’m a big fan!).

And now here I am! A Grad Student at USC, with a big dream and so many plans ahead. This is a brief overview of my journey, and if you’d like to know more about me, feel free to
